Fine Art Nudes and Landscapes in Infrared

These images have been taken over the past 12 years throughout the United States. Like all the images on this site, these were captured on High Speed Infrared Film.

Image ID: ARCH

Taken in Arches National Park. The use of an extreme wide angle lens distorts the actual size of the huge rock formation.

Image ID: BOYSF

This image of a young hispanic boy playing in the surf was taken on the beach just off Golden Gate Park.

Image ID: CHURCH

This church sits atop the town of Pawnee Rock, KS. This is highest piont for hundreds of miles. The church seems abandoned, no electicity or road leading to it. It actually seemed to be in the middle of a freshly plowed field. Perhaps aliens left it? (humor)

Image ID: FINANGEL

This view of one of the buildings at the garden of the late Howard Finster, probably the most well known of southern folk artists. I first met him in 1984 and visited his garden and studio which are only 45 minutes from my home whenever I could.

Image ID: FINGARD

Another view of Howard Finsters Paradise Gardens. Unfortunantly, a lot of the sculpture and other art pieces in this photograph have been sold to collectors.

Image ID: FINSCUL

A wide angle view of some of the sculptures in Howard Finster's garden.

Image ID: HOV

Marie Lavaeu's House of VooDoo is a landmark in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Image ID: LHVIEW

A view from the window of the Point Reyes lighthouse north of San Franscisco.

Image ID: MONVAL

An extreme wide angle view of a sandstone formation with grafitti on it, with the famous buttes of Monument Valley in the distance.

Image ID: OFRAIN

Old Faithful and the faithful waiting for the show.

Image ID: OLDFAITH

A group of children watching Old Faithful and/or the grazing buffalo in the distance.

Image ID: PETCEM

This pet cemetary is in south central Colorado. I happened upon it and was impressed with the neatly stenciled markers and rows of former pets. This was no commercial venture. There was a shovel, some line and some markers near the tree in the background. Evidiently some caretaker stencils the markers. A very cool road trip find.

Image ID: REDBENH

I love to photograph benches with a view while traveling. This rustic bench is in the Redwoods National Park in Northern California - one of my favorite places on earth.

Image ID: REDWH

A photograph cannot convey the spectacular prescence of the giant Redwoods of California. It is hard to concieve that these are living things, some thousands of years old. Walking among them is a humbling yet uplifting experience.
