Image Title: Bovine Nirvana
This image was taken at one of the dairy farms that are located within the Point Reyes National Seashore just north of San Franscisco. These cows are blessed with one of most amazing views that any cattle on earth must enjoy. |

Image Title: Lone Cow
Also taken at Pt Reyes. This is a 'pure' image, not manipulated in any way. I had to patiently wait for a single cow to happen into the wished-for position and then yell like hell to get it to look my way. |

Image Title: Standoff
Also taken in Pt Reyes. This cow stubbornly refused to yield the right of way for 10 minutes. I had hoped it wouldn't move while approching in the car, but after shooting a dozen images I had to resort to a bit of light flashing and horn blowing to get it to move just far enough for me to pass. |

Image Title: The Search for Other Intelligence.
Taken at the Very Large Array (VLA) in remote New Mexico. This was taken years before the movie 'Contact' made this location famous. This site is so remote that free range cattle outnumber humans by a 100 to 1 ratio. The juxtaposition of the cows against the billion dollar radio telescopes activly searching for signs of stellar neighbors caught me as funny. If aliens did track back to this location, what are they going to think? These four legged creatures must be smarter than they look? |

Image Title: Carry a Big Stick
Taken just north of the California-Oregon border off of the Pacific Coast Highway. There were huge Redwood drifts to the left of the image that the Retriever was attemting to dislodge. His companion was content to just follow and watch. |

Taken at Pt Reyes National Seashore. This Beagle, his owner and I were the sole occupants of this beautiful stretch of unspoiled seashore. The dog was obviously Loving Life. |

Image Title: You Can Lead a Dog To A Natural Wonder, but You Can't Make Him Appreciate The View.
Another odd thing I like to photograph is dogs on vacation. After visiting so many of our natural wonders in this country, I began to notice how many people would take their pets to the spectacle and then seem to expect some reaction. This dog is obviously more interested in something other than the Grand Canyon. |

Image Title: It's Impossible To Impress a Cat When You're Naked.
This was an 'accidental' shot taken while the model was warming up before a shoot in New Orleans. She informed me that she could stand on her head and proceeded to demonstrate. After looking at the contact sheet later, the idea of the title occured to me. Everyone who sees this image at shows always informs me that it is impossible to impress a cat ... PERIOD. I agree. |

Image Title: The Good Brother
I had stopped for fuel at a remote store in Maine and was waiting behind this young man and his two smaller brothers. He patiently counted his change and had just enough to buy his brothers an ice cream. He loaded them into his home made wagon and was headed for his home nearby. |

Image Title: Nevada Bikelane
While driving through the desert in Northern Nevada, I met an English bike enthusiast who was recreating the first transcontinental bike crossing of the US. His daughter was along for the trip and served as his support team. I spent the day with them, shooting some video and photographs and having a nice meal and conversation. I never did learn whether he completed the trip. |
